I Think We are Witnessing the Birth of a New Supervillian
This guy, for reasons we are still trying to determine, really, really hates pesticides with the chemical 1080 in them. What is 1080? It’s another name for sodium flouroacetate (FCH2CO2Na) – a really nasty, colorless powder that tastes like salt. Once in your body, it shuts down some important biochemical enzyme pathways including the Kreb’s citric acid cycle, so citric acid accumulates and every organ in your body starts to shut down within minutes. It’s been used in New Zealand for decades but some budding evil supervillian decided that he wanted to hold the whole country hostage and threatened to begin contaminating powdered baby formula with the stuff. Thankfully, the kiwi cops caught the guy before he carried out his nefarious plot.
