Largest Carbon Monoxide Poisoning in Wisconsin History – At an Ice Hockey Rink

Funny, but Zambonis are one of the most frequently cited sources for carbon monoxide emissions. There have been several large-scale CO poisonings that have occurred at ice skating rinks due to malfunctioning Zambonis, poor ventilation and NO CO DETECTORS IN THE BUILDING. This event actually happened in 2014, but the CDC just finished their investigation and published it in the Morbidity & Mortality Weekly Report – required reading for the Safety Rangers. Hope fully the ice rink guy installed a couple of CO detectors in the past 2 years.
