First we had the dentist from Minnesota that shot Cecil – the lion in Africa that nobody had ever heard of but still caused worldwide meltdown. Then the story from the BBC that he British National Health Service has not been referring patients to dentists (was anyone really surprised?). Now we have his guy who allegedly killed (not a lion this time) another guy in his car with some kind of dental sedative. I’ll assume that the deceased wasn’t receiving a root canal in the car and that there had been some bad blood between the dentist and his victim. Killing a guy by injecting him with dental sedative in a car at night doesn’t do much to dispel the “Evil Dentist” stereotype. Can’t be sure what the “sedative” might be – story is a little light on the details. Any sedative would require quite a long time to kill someone, unless it was a paralyzing agent and I don’t know of any paralyzing agent that is available orally. Eerie common thread running through these stories….open wide!
